The highest number of premature deaths of men and boys between ages 15 to 60 years old in 2003 were in India and China; followed by the Russian Federation, Indonesia and Nigeria. Part of the reason for these high counts is the large population of these territories. The most premature deaths of men and boys between ages 15 and 60 were in African territories. Lesotho has the highest rate: 91 deaths per 100, meaning that most of the male population will not live to the age of 60. Low death rates amongst the males aged 15 to 60 are found in Switzerland, Israel and Singapore. |
