The main producer of maize is the USA (384 million tons), followed by China (more than 230 million tons), Brazil (>64 million tons), Argentina (>39 million tons), and Mexico (> 28 million tons). Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Russia and Canada complete the top 10. It is used largely for animal feed and commercial starch production.
