Not everyone can be a truffle. Most of us are potatoes. And a potato is a very good thing to be.
According to the FAO: “potatoes are the most important vegetable crop”
The biggest producer of potatoes in 2016 was China by far with almost 100 million tons harvested, followed by India (almost 500 million tons), Russia (311 million tons), Ukraine (217 million tons) and the USA (just below 200 million tons). Germany, Bangladesh, Poland France and the Netherlands complete the top 10. Overall Potatoes are harvested in 158 countries.
