In Swaziland and the Solomon Islands more than half of the population is unemployed, followed by Mauritania. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the European country with the highest unemployment, just over 30 per cent of the population. In most countries this numbers are rough estimates, unemployment is not always registered as state social support is not available in many territories. Instead support, when it is available, may come from the family, community or a rudimentary welfare system.
