China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!

On 31 December 2019, the WHO was informed about the first cases in Wuhan, China. During the January 2020 the disease spread further within China and also started to spread even further.
The big majority of cases in January 2020 was recorded in China (9.720), followed by Thailand (19), Japan (17), Singapore (16) and HongKong (12). There were the first coronavirus cases registered in 25 countries outside of China, mostly in South-East and East Asia, Europe and North America, at this point mostly in single digits. Only China recorded deaths (213) at this point in time.
