Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a summary measure of achievements in three key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, access to knowledge and a decent standard of living.
In 2015 Norway had the highest score of 0.949; the Central Africa Republic had the lowest score of 0.352. The world average was 0.717. Biggest negative changes were calculated for Libya and Syria from 2010 to 2015, loosing 35 and 29 places in rank – respectively.
