The pistachio: it’s just like our politics. When the two sides are divided, that’s when the nuts come out.
The biggest producer of pistachios is the USA -more than 400 000 tons, followed by Iran, Turkey, China and Syria. Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Afghanistan and Spain complete the top 10.
According to the FAO only 22 countries are producing pistachios.
