The highest number of asylum-seekers in 2018 come from Venezuela (>460 000) , followed by Afghanistan (>310 000.), Iraq (>250 000), Syria (>130 000) and Democratic Republic Congo (>130 000).
According to UNHCR’s report: At the end of 2018, there were approximately 3.5 million people around the world waiting for a decision on their asylum claims.
