The limits of my language mean the limits of my world. (Die Grenzen meiner Sprache bedeuten die Grenzen meiner Welt.)
Korean is spoken by roughly 74 million people, in at least 21 territories. It is spoken by almost everyone in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). It is also spoken by around 1.9 million people in China, mostly in the North-East of the country. There are also large numbers of speakers in the United States (especially in Los Angeles’ Koreatown district), and Japan, where Koreans make up the largest ethnic minority group.
