The maps show each country resized according to the number of bronze medals received by each country. Medals won by Individual Neutral Athletes and Athletes competing in the Refugee Olympic Team are not shown in this map. The United States topped the overall medal table at the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing 40 gold medals, just edging past China, who also won 40 golds, due to a higher number of silver medals (44 to 27). The US also tops the bronze medals with 42 (24 for China). Both countries also won the most medals overall with a total of 126 medals for the USA and 91 for China. Japan finished third with 20 golds (but only 45 total medals including 12 silver, less than 7th ranked United Kingdom with 65 medals in total, 22 of which were silver and 29 bronze, the second most number of bronze medals), while Australia and host nation France followed in fourth and fifth with 18 and 16 golds respectively (16 and 22 bronze, 53 and 64 medals in total).
