Oranges belong to the family of citrus fruits and this data includes both, sweet and bitter oranges. The ladder is mostly used for the production of marmalade. Like most citrus plants, oranges do well with moderate temperatures (between 15 and 30°C)—and need considerable amounts of sunshine and water.
The world leader for Orange production in 2016 is Brazil, harvesting with more than 17 000 000 tons more than double the amount than the runner-up China. On third place is India, followed by the United States and Mexico. First European Orange producer on seventh place is Spain.
