You can eat it. You can drink it. You can raise livestock with it, plant it to fertilise land, or process it to make varnishes, soaps, inks – even explosives. Eat processed food and you’ll likely ingest it without even knowing.
Most of the world’s soybeans are harvested in United States of America, followed by Brazil, Argentina and India. China, Egypt, Paraguay, Canada, Ukraine and Bolivia complete the top 10.
The biggest increase in soybean production between 2000 and 2016 happened in Brazil, followed by USA and Argentina. The biggest decline in that period happened in China, followed by Thailand and Zimbabwe.
