Avocados are a commodity in the Western world, a food item that became very popular on the plates and on instagram during this millennium.
The biggest increase of avocado production is recorded in Mexico, which doubled its production between 2000 and 2016. The runner-up Dominican Republic even produces seven times more in 2016 than in 2000.
