Avocados are a commodity in the Western world, a food item that became very popular on the plates and on instagram during this millennium. The map reflects that, showing that the 10 biggest importing countries – apart from Japan – are all in North America or Europe.
The United States of America are the biggest importer of Avocados by far, importing more than the other countries of the TOP 10 combined. The Netherlands are functioning as an Import-Export Hub, while they appear on this map as the second biggest importer, they are also the second biggest exporter without producing any.
